We have a highly collaborative, continuous delivery culture. For you this means, working on exciting modern automation tooling (Gatling, Codecept.io, RestAssured among others) and automation processes, as well as acceptance testing (UI/API), performance and security testing, monitoring, metrics, etc. Primary Responsibilities As a Staff Quality Engineer in HMH, you will be working with our product development teams to enhance and maintain best practices and tooling for our entire application stack. We follow a strict Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery approach, deploying to production multiple times a day. Our main UI technology is React our backend is primarily implemented in Java Springboot. Your role will be to guide the teams in following our testing strategy and developing this strategy further, always with a focus on delivering new code to production quickly, while still keeping the quality bar high Education & Experience · 10+ years of experience in a software engineering role · Bachelor’s degree in computer science OR equivalent work experience Required Skills and Experience - Excellent understanding of testing tools including: In depth experience with at least one UI automation tool such as Cypress, TestCafe, Protractor or Webdriver.io. Familiarity with integration testing a front-end application using tools such as React Testing Library and Mock Service Worker. Strong understanding of testing approaches such as TDD and BDD. Understanding of Contract Testing (e.g. Pact). In depth experience with working with REST and/or GraphQL based APIs. Experience with web performance testing (frontend performance and load testing) Experience managing and lkeading people and / or projects across different teams. - Strong understanding of how a modern web application is developed and deployed, including: Strong understanding of the architecture of a modern web application. Excellent understanding of the guiding principles behind Continuous Integration, Delivery and Deployment and experience implementing CI/CD pipelines with a tool such as Jenkins, CircleCI or Travis Experience with using monitoring tools such as the ELK stack or Datadog - A strong background in testing and quality practices Has developed at least one test strategy/test approach for a team or multiple teams Experience with initiating proof of concept projects for testing tools and driving them to conclusion. - Proven experience and ability as a thought leader in teams.
