Manufacturing Data Engineer – Dublin West The ultimate purpose of technology teams in GxP environments is to serve the evolving needs of the business. We are a specialist provider of consultancy and implementation services for IT infrastructure and data architectures within life science manufacturing. Our role is to be a companion on the road for technology teams to be able to use as a tool at times when decisions need to be made.We now have an amazing opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Data Engineer to join our growing team and work on site with our blue-chip multinational clients within the pharmaceutical industry. This role is based out of one of our client sites in Dublin West.The Position: In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the provision of manufacturing data and acting as a SME for the PI system. You will play a critical role in managing and optimizing data acquisition, storage, analysis, and reporting processes to support efficient and compliant manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate has a strong background in data engineering, and its applied uses in a lifesciences manufacturing environment, expertise in the OSIsoft PI, and a deep understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes. Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the OSIsoft PI system, ensuring its optimal performance, availability, and compliance with regulatory requirements.Develop and maintain the manufacturing data infrastructure, including data acquisition & storage.Design and implement data acquisition strategies to capture real-time manufacturing data from various sources, including process equipment, instruments, IOT & control systems. (MES, BMS, DCS, OEM etc…)Develop and maintain data models, templates, and calculations within the OSIsoft PI system to support manufacturing analytics and reporting.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and implement solutions to address business needs.Ensure data integrity and consistency by implementing data quality control measures and monitoring data validation processesCollaborate within Automation Infra team to manage system upgrades, patches, and performance optimizations for the OSIsoft PI system.Provide technical support and training to end-users on data acquisition tools, OSIsoft PI system functionalities, and data visualization tools.Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to data engineering and manufacturing systems.Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance data management processes, system performance, and user experienceDrive to mature sites capabilities into predictive and prescriptive state. The Requirements: Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.You must have at least 5 years previous working with the OSIsoft PI system as a system owner or administrator within a manufacturing environment, in the pharmaceutical or biopharma industry.Solid understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, including batch processing, equipment automation, and data acquisition systems.Proficiency in data engineering concepts, data integration, and data management best practices.Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into effective data solutions.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.Knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, GMP) related to data integrity and computerized systems validation.Experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL) and scripting is advantageous.Driving lean & efficient ways of working & innovative engineering solutionsFormal Training on PI system.Must hold a full valid Irish work permit as this role has an immediate start.
