What you will be doing: The focus of the Trainee Operation Supervisor role after a period of training is to manage a team of technicians, provide regular feedback to team members, oversee daily business management, create succession plans, demonstrate strong leadership, foster a positive work ethos, and maintain a culture based on credo and behavioural standards. What impact you will also have: * Be a leader on Site Safety by actively participating in the Emergency Response Team and related training. * Manage a team of technicians including training and development of team members technical skills to compliment resources of the business. * Manage the development of plans to address/resolve technical issues when they arise. * Day to day people management including regular on-the-job feedback to team members to ensure consistent communication regarding performance. * Follow through on all day-to-day business management such as the upkeep of Safety and housekeeping standards, manufacturing line performance for that shift, effective handovers to the incoming shift, plans for to address underperformance * Develop succession plans for team members to allow them progress while ensuring skill requirements are maintained. * Identify and lead cost and technical improvements under the departments' continuous improvement program. * Lead or actively participate in cross-functional teams to ensure project such as New Product Introduction (NPI), Research and Development and others are completed in a timely and efficient manner and are accurately reported on. * Demonstrate strong leadership and a clear identifiable work ethos within the team. * Develop and maintain a Credo & Behavioural Standards based culture within the group. * Ensure effective closure on Quality System documents (Audit Actions, NCR's, CAPA's, Maps, etc.) and that all day to day as well as project activities are managed in accordance with the Quality management system. * Work with area manager to develop and implement strategic operational and engineering Goals & Objectives.
