Key Duties and ActivitiesThe primary purpose of this role is to support Plan International’s programmes with a particular focus programming from ECHO/EU donors.Business Development supportProvide continuous support to the Business Development Team to ensure quality preparation of donor proposals in a timely and effective manner. Identify grant opportunities in close coordination with Business Development and Programmes Implementation units.Liaising with the Plan International Ireland compliance team on budget development and donor compliance.Maintain programme records and associated files including project proposals, budgets, LogFrames and contract documents.Support the ECHO HIP, EU and the Irish Aid proposals, as well as ongoing multi-lateral portfolio building.Work on specific sections of donor proposals as requested by the BD team lead and BDO. OtherContribute actively to Plan International Ireland’s Programme Implementation Teams, sharing ideas and experience to ensure the implementation of our programme strategy and to build programme quality.Competencies RequiredEducation Third Level qualification in a related field.Skills and abilitiesProject ManagementKnowledge and experience of programme cycle management, Results Based Management, and Rights Based Approach, the implementation of CHS and other humanitarian standards, such as SPHERE.Ability to plan well and deliver on objectives in a timely way, particularly in relation to meeting donor deadlines.Ability to seek out, develop, and successfully implement new ideas, or adopt proven approaches that support the delivery of quality programmes.Compliance and FinanceAbility to work with a portfolio of donors, donor compliance skills, including strong financial understanding.Knowledge of compliance requirements in relation to international development operations.Ability to work closely with finance and compliance teams.Communications and Networking SkillsStrong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to adapt messages to meet diverse audiences.French language competency is highly desirable.Ability to engage with others inside and outside the organisation to promote our child rights agenda, and profile the work of Plan International Ireland.Level of experience requiredYou will have experience of supporting humanitarian and development programmes at head office level and will be familiar with donor proposal development and compliance requirements particularly for EU and UN agencies. You will have experience of all stages of grant management from proposal writing through implementation to final reporting.CompetenciesCommunicating with all stakeholders: be able to communicate our vision using clear and concise messaging.
