Title: Creative Coastal Resilience Project CoordinatorContract: 26 monthHours: 4 day / 30 hours per weekSalary: €34,800 per annumAnnual Leave: 19 days per annum The RoleDingle Hub invites applications from suitably qualified candidates who wish to be considered for inclusion on a panel from which the role of Project Coordinator for the Creative Coastal Resilience project will be filled.The Creative Coastal Resilience Project Coordinator will be responsible for consulting with stakeholders and community representatives for the development, implementation and delivery of the Creative Coastal Resilience Project. Summary of RoleThe project will facilitate a Project Coordinator and an Embedded Artist to work closely together, and with the Maharees community, to address the following aims: To build on and amplify the work already done on developing an appreciation of the environmental sensitivity and biodiversity value of coastal areas among the visiting and resident communities to create a love of place that will drive behavioural change to lessen impacts on coastal biodiversity.To bring about a deeper understanding among the visiting and resident communities of Maharees with regard to the future impacts of climate change on the Maharees tombolo and on the role that the management of coastal dunes will play in achieving climate resilience with a view to effecting behavioural change and facilitate place-based adaptation.To support other coastal communities by developing a template and/or guidelines for the most effective approaches and communications to drive behaviour change for the benefit of the coastal environment.To sustain and embed the high levels of volunteerism established within Maharees Conservations and to activate regenerative tourism in the area Key ResponsibilitiesReporting directly to the Project Steering Group, which will consist of representatives of Dingle Hub and Maharees Conservation Association, the Creative Coastal Resilience Project Coordinator will work closely, and in dialogue, with local partners and stakeholders, communities and the embedded artist(s). The Project Coordinator will also take a leading role in all areas of project management, embedded artist(s) recruitment, programme development and delivery, producing, budgeting, reporting, marketing and communicating with artists, community members and local and national stakeholders. Key responsibilities Work with the Project Steering group to meet with local interested groups and individuals and to listen to what matters to and interests people and, in response, to manage recruitment processes that will support the community to identify and select the embedded artist(s) and project participants; Administration and day to day management of the Creative Coastal Resilience budget (€240,000 over a 2-year period); Work in partnership and in dialogue with local stakeholders and agencies to maintain the effective operation of the project and to augment the work that is happening in the area currently; Be present and accessible in Maharees / Dingle Peninsula on a weekly basis;Ensure that programme timelines are met throughout the project;Facilitate the building of community engagement and participation in the overall programme;Act as primary support to the embedded artist;Promotion and articulation on public media of project, engagement opportunities and achievements;Ensure that all safety requirements and risk assessments are carried out;Coordinate the ongoing documentation of the project;Support the evaluation process to ensure it is embedded it in the project from the start;Assist the development and delivery of the communications strategy for the project;Provide monthly reports to the steering committee and prepare annual reports for Creative Ireland;Disseminate the learnings from the Creative coastal Resilience Project at a showcase event in 2025 and at other events that may arise during the project term;Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time. Essential Skills and Experience: The ideal candidate will be expected to have: An ordinary degree (level 7 or higher on the National Framework of Qualifications or equivalent) in a project management, business, tourism or marketing discipline, or;At least 3 years satisfactory relevant management and administration experience including experience in the areas of community project development, budget management or arts programme managementA demonstrated ability to foster positive relationships with a broad range of individuals, groups and organisations;Experience of working collaboratively across statutory, community/voluntary and volunteer led organisations, especially in the creative/arts sector;Proven ability to achieve successful delivery of tasks within prescribed deadlines and budgets;A passion for, and interest in, environmental sustainability in coastal environments and rural Irish culture, ideally with some Irish language skillsStrong proficiency with standard office information, communication and data processing technologies ie Word, Excel and Powerpoint applications;Knowledge of Local and National Arts Policy;Experience in facilitation and mediation Desirable Attributes and Skills: An entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for working within a small start-up team to build new high impact initiatives.An ability to manage multiple tasks, to work alone and as part of a team;Team player, eager to understand the work of the wider team and organisation’s ambitions and powerfully translate these for different audiences.​Political sensitivity and ability to apply good judgment in decision-making.Places importance on understanding, empathy, relationship building and kindness when liaising with a community-led organisation and community membersDisplays high levels of skill/expertise in own area and provides guidance to colleagues. GovernanceThe Creative Coastal Resilience Project Coordinator will be employed by Mol Teic (trading as The Dingle Hub) and will report to the Project Steering Group and, on a day to day basis, to the General Manager of the Dingle Hub.Location The location for working purposes will be within the Dingle Peninsula. Office space will be available at Dingle Hub and project activities will be based on the Maharees.
