Senior Automation Project Engineer/Lead – Cork Overview An experienced Senior Automation Project Engineer/Lead is required to deliver the automation for process machines within a life science building and tank farm. The person will work as part of a team and will need to be autonomous and lead and deliver a significant automation system scope through management of vendors as the client representative. It is primarily a site based role with some hybrid flexibility. Responsibilities The Senior Automation Project Engineer/Lead will be responsible for activities including the following: L ead and deliver a significant automation system scope through management of vendors as the client representative. Ensure the AVEVA Archestra system platform delivered by the integrator meets the sites’ standards, templates and requirements. Manage and control relevant package capital budgets and change control. Review, develop and manage GAMP documentation. Coordinate the review and update of any internal documentation affected by the project as hand over packs supplied by external vendors . Deliver automation by managing the design and construction of SCADA platforms to support process area and tank farm. Autonomously lead a significant automation system scope through management of vendors as the client representative. Work with multiple disciplines to resolve issues involving the SCADA systems integration. Coordinate OES system suppliers and vendors to ensure all systems align with site automation strategy. Oversee interfaces between the main contractor, automation integrator and individual package vendors to ensure seamless integration. Ensure the project construction and commissioning are executed within the safety/environmental requirements. Support EMS with risk assessments as Automation SME. Attend FATs as Automation SME. Experience Required BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical degree. 10+ years of experience in automation project management within a Pharmaceutical/Life Science Manufacturing environment. 10+ years automation engineering experience with AVEVA Archestra, Rockwell PLC, ControlLogix, GuardLogix, Flex 5000, 1718 Remote IO panels and related platforms. Extensive experience with networking protocols including Modbus, Profibus, EtherNet IP, DeviceNet and ControlNet. Exposure to vision systems and motion control. Exposure to CE marking and declaration of conformity reviews and approvals. Knowledge of control systems integration with MES. Excellent understanding of cGMPs. Excellent facilitation, problem solving and decision making skills. Proven facilitation, meeting/workshop management, project management and change management skills are essential, along with excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills. Experience Desired: Strong record of delivery of automation projects. SQL experience. Instrumentation and VSD experience. Computer literate in MS Suite and Navis Works. Powered by JazzHR
