Summary The Cloud Infrastructure Operations Engineer position centres around managing and optimizing cloud-based systems, ensuring they are efficient, secure, and up-to-date. This includes overseeing the cloud infrastructure, monitoring performance, and managing databases. The role involves ensuring database integrity, optimizing performance, and implementing security measures. Collaboration with other teams for smooth deployments and proactive problem-solving are key aspects. Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to: Create and maintain databases for various stages (development, testing, production). Manage application and database migrations through deployment cycles. Implement and enforce security standards. Assist in database object changes and physical database design. Install and configure Oracle databases, and manage application servers like TomCat/Glassfish. Document, investigate, and resolve customer requests and engineering issues. Provide technical support to application development teams. Perform tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization. Manage AWS console. Education and/or Professional Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent professional experience. Minimum of 3 years of commercial experience. Strong knowledge of commercial RDBMS, particularly Oracle, and excellent SQL skills. Familiarity with database backup and recovery, security and user management, API technologies, source code control systems, and network technologies. Experience in cloud deployment (AWS, Azure) and Linux is a huge plus. Experience with cloud deployment and management tools. Familiarity with automation and scripting languages. Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines. Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and teamwork capabilities. Proactive and eager to learn and adapt. RDBMS (Oracle). J2EE Application Server (Glassfish/Tomcat/Weblogic). Amazon Web Services (AWS). Cloud Computing. Liquibase. Jenkins. Git.
