Management Accountant (12 month contract)

Description:
DESCRIPTIONThe management accountant will have responsibility for the provision of monthly/annual and ad hoc financial information together with overseeing and ensuring the effective and efficient management of the day to day running of the finance function. This individual will be heavily involved with our digital transformation and have a proactive roll in the overall structuring and direction of the department by providing fresh prospective and insights. This role will be primarily remote, however will require irregular visits to the office for team meetings. EXPERIENCE / BACKGROUND/SKILLS Qualified accountant with a minimum of 5+ years post qualification experience.Previous management accounts preparation experience.Highly numeric & analytical with a strong attention to detail.A strong system orientation including advanced excel skills.Results orientated with focus on enhancing processes and controls.Ability to determine key relevant information and ensure systems and processes support production and presentation of appropriate financial metrics in a meaningful way for all stakeholders.Excellent communication skills with demonstrable ability to communicate finance information to non-finance staff.Self -motivated and ability to work under pressure.Team player with the ability to work as part of the core finance team, delivering accountability, collaboration, leadership and influencing as required. RESPONSIBILITIES Preparation of monthly management accounts.Assistance with preparation of annual budget and maintaining reforecasts.Identifying budgetary variances, including liaising with relevant management.Preparation of variance analysis reports.Planning and coordination of year end audits and statutory accounts preparation.Interpret a wide range of information and use findings to provide insights to support business decisions.Drive the use of digital technology solutions in our reporting.Drive continuous improvement by identifying & improving any inefficiencies in processes to ensure best in class control environment.Preparation of monthly payroll.Completion of monthly/bi-monthly/annual tax and statutory returns.Working with the head of finance to deliver the finance strategy and annual action plan for the finance function.
