We deliver a comprehensive source-to-pay strategic sourcing offering, elevating the office of procurement in strategic importance and redefining the procurement function.Workday Strategic Sourcing transforms sourcing processes with clean, intuitive software that helps buyers and suppliers do business more effectively and efficiently.We are looking for a Ruby on Rails Software Engineer to help us keep shipping features to customers who love our products. You're probably keen to hear about our tech stack: - Our application is built on Ruby 3 and Rails 7, we also have a sprinkle of Python.- Our backend and frontend talk using GraphQL.- Our customers can consume our data using our Public JSON Rest API or webhooks. - AWS is our product's home.- We're really enjoying React, Typescript, and SCSS.- Sidekiq, Redis, ElasticSearch and WebSocket play their parts in our overall solution. Curious about our engineering workflow: - Agile development with deployments to production every 2 weeks.- We continuously work with product owners to agree on reasonable deadlines.- Jira, Slack, Zoom and calendars help us coordinate and communicate across continents and time zones.- Documentation is important to us, and we use Confluence to keep things evolving.- GitLab helps us improve each other's code and our well-tuned linter keeps reviews light on style and heavy on substance.- Our QA team works hard to catch issues, bugs, and cross-browser glitches before we merge a pull request into the mainline, and again before release in the bi-weekly smoke test.- GitLab CI empowers us to continually improve. Basic Qualifications: Minimum 3+ years software development experience.Minimum 2+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails. Other Qualifications (nice to have): Proficiency with PostgreSQL (or equivalent SQL database) and optimizing queriesProposes pragmatic solutions to painful problems.Find opportunities to teach others.Experience working within large codebases and/or web applications.Loves to understand and discuss the value our work delivers to customersKindly and consistently pushes the team forward, but knows how to pick their battles Our Approach to Flexible Work With Flex Work, we're combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote.
