Test Manager – Data Protection & Recovery (Tech Risk) Job Description This role is part of the Client’s Data Protection & Recovery (DPR) Programme team, supporting the delivery of Programme Testing. You will report to the Senior Test Manager and work closely with other DPR Programme Workstream Leads and Business Operations and Central Test Teams, and third parties, to ensure Test Readiness, appropriate coverage and traceability. Key Responsibilities & Requirements: • Test Management of complex and strategical important programme implementations. • Stakeholder Management across IT, Business and Operations functions, and third-party suppliers. • Assurance of Technical Supplier deliverables. • Progress Test Planning & Preparation, aligned to Banks’ Test Framework and Test Methodology. • Create Test Reports and Test Metrics to report status and coverage clearly. • Management of Test Preparation, Specification, Execution activities aligned to the Bank’s Test Framework. • Plan and co-ordinate dependencies and facilitate Test Readiness Reviews for Functional & Integration Testing, User Acceptance and Penetration Testing ensuring interdependencies are identified, communicated and managed. • Identify and document RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) items. • Understand and apply the Programme’s ALM Tool (JIRA) within the context of a hardware and software application environment. • Engage and negotiate with vendors (as appropriate) to ensure adequate resources are available during various testing phases of the programme. • Liaise with team members to ensure that all tasks and deliverables are proceeding according to schedule. Skills Must Have • 15+ Years Testing experience with 5+ in a Test Manager role (preferably in an Infrastructure Delivery programme). • Test Management for a multi-year complex programme and track record of sticking to deadlines. • Managing testing in a Financial Services regulatory environment, in particular experience of testing in Back-up and Recovery. • Managing stakeholders in a distributed work environment. • Managing infrastructure Testing, including hardware and software applications. • Driving and Assuring the production of Test Plan documentation including working within a Test Framework aligning to Central Test function policies, procedures and tooling. • Working with 3rd party vendors to plan, co-ordinate and execute testing. • Excellent interpersonal skills with a keen ability to work with all parties with a view of getting the job done in a co-operative fashion. • Excellent reporting and presentation skills with the ability to provide clear metrics and report on test status. • Ability to identify blocking issues, manage and escalate to right level where required. • Ability to report and track Test related RAID. • Proactive, self-motivated with a positive “can-do” attitude, creative with excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills including strong persuasive techniques. • Strong problem-solving • Ability to lead, develop and maintain respectful and trusting relationship. Should Have • Testing of Backup and Recovery Runbooks a distinct advantage. • ISTQB Advanced Level Test Manager Certification and / or Project Management Certification or equivalent is an advantage Could Have • Dell and IBM back-up & recovery technologies a distinct advantage. • Mainframe Safeguarded Copy and/or Syncpoint technologies a distinct advantage. • Degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Information Technology / Business or related qualification.
