About the Team The field of machine learning and gen ai has been fuelled by recent technological advances allowing software products to become context aware and adapted to the needs of individual users. Workday is investing in building products that leverage these technologies because of a strong continued focus on providing a top-class user experience for its customers.As a result of this investment, we are recruiting a Frontend Developer to join a newly formed team in the UI Platform group in Dublin. This new team will be responsible for delivering a context aware co-pilot experience to Workday. About the Role This is a frontend engineer role within the User Success Platform team in Workday. Our mission is to help our 55+ million users become even more productive and to use Workday to its fullest extent. We achieve this by using ML to discover how our software is being used and then provide guidance features to allow our users to successfully achieve their goals.Developing for scale has been part of Workdays DNA from the very beginning, and we are serving employees in over 50% of the Fortune 500 companies worldwide, using a modern fully cloud native solution with one single code line.We're looking for someone who is excited about building industry leading applications that will be used by millions of users daily and passionate about the user experience. The successful candidate is also a team player who understands and promotes industry best practices, and who excels at finding interesting and innovative ways to build and test frontend code. Responsibilities: Work in a multi-disciplinary scrum team. Define, build, deploy and own new featuresCollaborate with visual and interaction designers to craft the UI of the productDrive technical design and architecture meetings with the team and perform peer code reviews as part of everyday workflowDemonstrate technical awareness, vision and influencing skills in your interactions with the people outside your immediate team/orgHave passion for innovation and ability to contribute to shaping the technical and product roadmapsAnd finally: Have fun engineering software! About You Basic Qualifications (must-haves): Mid level Front End Engineer 4-5 years proven experience developing software in a commercial environment.2+ years experience in developing web applications in React.3+ years demonstrated ability in developing web applications in HTML5/CSS/JS using frameworks/libraries.1+ years' experience in developing web applications in Python using web frameworks/libraries eg Flask/FastAPIExperience of working in an agile, fast paced continuous delivery environment. Senior Front End Engineer Experience driving complex initiatives without being given detailed direction.A record of providing technical guidance and mentoring to the more junior team members.8+ years proven experience developing software in a commercial environment.4+ years experience in developing web applications in React.5+ years demonstrated ability in developing web applications in HTML5/CSS/JS using frameworks/libraries.1+ years' experience in developing web applications in Python using web frameworks/libraries eg Flask/FastAPIProven ability to work in an agile, fast paced continuous delivery environment. Other Qualifications (nice to haves) : Bachelor's Degree or higher, preferably Computer Science/EngineeringExperience working with ML and a curiosity about venturing into the backend service when needed to take on end-to-end problems would be an advantage.We understand that candidates may not meet all the qualifications or have experience in every area listed above.
