About the Role As a senior product designer on the Financials UX team you are organized, care about the details, and have a strong intellectual curiosity. You strive to transform sophisticated tasks into fabulous and effortless experiences for our users. You understand that achieving phenomenal design is a team effort and requires collaboration with cross functional partners as well as clear and effective communication to our leadership. You are willing to show your work early and often because you believe showing is more important than telling.Job Details:You will lead product design for Workday's Expenses product, one of the major areas of our suite of products within the office of the CFO (oCFO). You'll own the full design process, from partnering with product management and UX research on initial research and product definition, through concepting, crafting detailed designs, prototyping, testing, and working with engineering on implementationYou will be responsible for crafting experiences spanning across multiple user types from casual user to managers to the financial professional This role involves both work on new as well as on established products and features, which will allow you to spend time thinking about the bigger picture across products while shipping concrete things to customers and end-usersYou'll partner with other designers to improve the quality of your designs and theirs, and continue your growth as a designerBe an ambassador for UX, a mentor for other designers, and champion for the design culture at WorkdayYou will help define Workday global design patterns and UX best practices About You Basic Qualifications6+ years of enterprise product design experience preferably in software design6+ years of experience working with product managers and engineering teams with initial product definition and ongoing product evolution and execution2+ years of leading major product design initiatives with medium to high complexityA portfolio of design work/case studies demonstrating your principles, methodologies, and approachOther QualificationsExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly explain your ideas and decisions in a way that anyone can understandAbility to build alignment and articulate a product design vision through strong storytelling and presentations skillsAbility to explore several design solutions, prototype and iterate based on quantitative/qualitative customer research and experimentationKnowledge in designing multiple form factors including web and mobileAbility to lead design and cross functional conversations and seek opportunities to help our users succeedEffectively communicate and present designs, designs rationales, and lead discussions towards clarity in requirements, scope, and timelineAbility to clearly present and articulate design decisions, participate in peer design critiques, and incorporate feedback into iterationsDemonstrate success in communicating and collaborating across a variety of and executive leadership, stakeholders, partners, including researchers, product managers, and engineersProvide mentorship and guidance to junior and mid-level designersPassion for and willingness to dive into and understand Financial Management, Machine Learning, AI, and Future of Work is a plusBA/BS or MA/MS degree preferred in human-computer interaction, human factors, psychology or related fieldYou are willing to bring your whole self to work and find ways to have fun Our Approach to Flexible Work With Flex Work, we're combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote.
