Financial Accountant RoleAs a Financial Accountant you will be a key member of the finance team joining as the number two role in finance. This is an opportunity for someone who works well in a team environment and possesses strong technical skills to gain experience with Irish and US finance requirements. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this opportunity provides a platform for professional growth and to contribute to the ongoing success of the organisation.You must be a can-do type of person and should enjoy a fast-paced, start-up environment. Equally important to strong technical skills, you must embrace change and the task of creating an infrastructure to support future growth as the Company expands.How You’ll Contribute Prepare and review accurate and on time consolidated monthly management accounts and present key findings to the Financial Controller.Prepare accounts to audit stage and collaborate seamlessly with auditors for a smooth audit process.Process accounts payable and associated bank payments (20% of role).Ensure compliance with accounting, tax reporting and internal control obligations.Assist with tax preparation and compliance, ensuring adherence to relevant tax laws.Prepare and submit required regulatory reports – VAT, CSO and other ad hoc filings.Review payroll-related tasks for joiners, leavers, and changes in employee status.Support the administration of grants, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and conditions.Assist the Financial Controller in the budgeting and forecasting process, providing financial insights to support decision-making.Identify and support implementation of process improvements to drive controls, efficiency and accuracy of all financial reporting processes.Support the growth of the business in US and the associated reporting obligations.Support the roll out of IT systems to support the business as it expands.Provide valuable support to Financial Controller on ad-hoc projects, Must Have Requirements Fully qualified accountant with 0-5 years post qualification experience.Strong technical accounting skills with knowledge of all relevant accounting regulations.Strong proficiency in Excel and data analysis skills.Exceptional work ethic – ability to “roll up sleeves”.Self-directed, able to manage time, handle pressure, multi-task and meet deadlines, independently and proactively.Demonstrates people skills to work effectively with others.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly to others in different functions and at various levels.Industry experience – start-up environment and / or medical device experience would be a distinct advantage.Accounts Payable experience would be a distinct advantage.Exposure to budgeting and forecasting would be a distinct advantage.
