We are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to build and lead our engineering team. You will develop technical direction, strategy and roadmap for the engineering team, and lead their implementation. As part of a multi-disciplinary organisation, you will work closely with the leadership of our science, product and design teams to ensure the successful implementation of our software development tools and future products.The successful candidate will join a fast-growing team covering software engineering for compiler backend and web IDE, and will help shape the future technical direction of the company and its products. Responsibilities Develop the technical approach, strategy, and roadmap for the engineering team, working collaboratively with the leadership, science, product and design teams Build and lead a team of software engineers to implement the software roadmap Drive software development best practices, identify technical gaps that need to be addressed, and recommend solutions to improve them Mentor and grow engineers to create a healthy and well-performing team Requirements 10 years of technology leadership and people management experience, including experience in building engineering teams 15 years of delivering product and engineering results of varied complexity and scale Experience in solving complex technical problems evidenced by concrete achievements Strong technical knowledge and ability to influence others to drive technical progress Excellent judgment and business acumen in determining a strategic vision, and a demonstrated track record of implementation Experience recruiting, mentoring, and retaining a motivated and diverse team Excellent written and verbal communication skills Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or an equivalent experience About The Company At Horizon Quantum Computing, we are developing tools to simplify and expedite the process of developing software for quantum computers, a fundamentally new form of computer that exploits effects from quantum physics to process information more efficiently.
